Official Launch
Prague, Czech Republic – At a ceremony with Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babiš, 11 American companies announced the formation of the American-Czech Business Council (ACBC). ACBC is a nonprofit organization aimed at promoting increased commercial relations between the United States and the Czech Republic. ACBC, based in Washington, DC, will be one-stop platform for dialogue between American corporate executives and the top political leaders responsible for the American-Czech bilateral relationship.
The Council launched today at a meeting with Prime Minister Andrej Babiš during the group’s inaugural Business Mission to Prague. The delegation of senior executives from the 11 companies met with key stakeholders across the Czech government to discuss opportunities for expanded U.S.-Czech commercial exchange.
“Any healthy relationship requires open communication and mutual understanding,” said the newly appointed President of the Council, Eric Stewart. “We are excited about the Czech Government’s willingness to engage with the American business community about both opportunities and challenges to increased trade and investment between our two countries.”
The participating companies in the inaugural business mission to Prague include Amgen, Archer Daniels Midland, Lockheed Martin, Medtronic, Merck Sharp & Dohme (MSD), Orbital ATK, Phillip Morris International, TE Connectivity, Textron, Thermo Fisher Scientific, and Westinghouse.
Membership in the Council will be open to any U.S.-based corporation interested in the bilateral relationship with the Czech Republic.
